Grit Bins
Northumberland County Council provide grit/salt bins for use by the public during frosty/icy conditions. You can use the grit provided to clear snow and ice from pavements around your home, making paths safer and easier to use. The bins can be found in the following locations (all are Yellow unless otherwise stated) -
- Fairshaw Crescent - End of Grass Section on Right Hand Side (Blue Bin)
- Outside the Public Toilets
- Opposite Bridge House beside the Burn Bridge
- Foundry Yard - Opposite the Snooker Club
- Behind Orchard House Vets opposite Northern Garage
- Hillside - Beside parking area at the top of the path behind No.25
- Briar Hill - Beside Playground Entrance
- Redesmouth Road - Outside School Gates
- Redesmouth Court - Right Hand Side When Entering the Estate
- Town Hall - Bottom of Steps Between Town Hall and the Gun Monument
- Boat Road - On the Corner adj Fallow Green Cottage
- Doctors Surgery Car Park
- Westlands - Bottom of Westlands Bank (Green Bin)
- Reenes Way - Side of Garages (Green Bin)
- Cairns Road - Top of Back Lane opposite Allotments
- Cairns Road - Parking Area opposite No.36
- Malting Close - Adj Electricity Substation
